Our back-to-back signage design and build interventions at UNICEF’s Delhi and Ahmedabad offices were a lesson on making spaces RPWD compliant (Rights for People With Disabilities) from a signage standpoint. Our first challenge was to get acrylic sheets in the shades of UN blue and the second one was to lacquer them matt. Each and every sign in these offices are tactile and accessible to people with visual disabilities and visible to people on wheel-chairs.
PS – Do take a careful look at the Fire Exit signs. These are an outcome of an experience with a small girl on an aeroplane (read the article xyz)!
