Our Story

We are a multidisciplinary team of design thinkers, visualizers, graphic designers, industrial & architectural designers, drama practitioners, storytellers, foodies and bikers, who along with experienced project managers, engineers and fabricators, make a potent signage design and solutions company. We bring with us two decades of grassroots wayfinding experience and a human-centred approach to different aspects of a project.

We have a keen eye on the symbiotic relationship that exists between the brand and the architecture, and help translate it into user experiences by proposing a functional, logical and value driven wayfinding & place-making design solution to our customers.

We do all of this out of a design studio in Noida and a workshop in Neb Sarai in South Delhi.

Our Approach To Design

Empathy is the lens through which we look at all our work. While the approach to design thinking talks a great deal about the use of empathy to observe and understand the user, we think that it is the practice of drama that makes it possible for us to step into the shoes of the users and identify their needs from their perspective. Drama also gives us the capability to mine for the possibilities that exist within a brand-architecture marriage. It gives us the tools to challenge the aesthetic without losing sight of logic.

Sign making and implementing for the last twenty years have made our know-how of construction detailing and material scoping arguably the richest in the industry. It also makes our designs and engineering details functional and value-driven.

Our approach to design is collaborative. We encourage diverse minds with diverse world views to sit across the drawing board, ideate, brainstorm and flesh out the best possible wayfinding solution for our customers. That’s the reason our designs click!

The Team

The unique mix of personalities we bring to the table is arguably the most important reason for our signage design and engineering work to click with our clients! Our design & build character gives us a strong eye on material, construction and application detail when we think design and when we engineer, produce or implement a sign, we are mindful of each nut’s & every bolt’s contribution towards the spatial design and the brand’s aesthetic value.

Our creative and engineering design teams sit out of a studio in Noida, whereas our production design, project management and fabrication teams, supported by procurement and accounts teams, sit out of a 500 sqm workshop in Neb Sarai, New Delhi.

Founder of VDIS; has 20 years of signage engineering and production knowhow along with an MIT certification in Design Thinking; believes that much of his way-finding and placemaking design skills are informed by the drama and storytelling work he carries out with children and adults; the former helps him look at work from transformational and empathetic perspectives and the latter brings with it the much-needed folk wisdom; graduated from St. Stephen’s college and has a PG Diploma in Theatre for education and social transformation from Shiv Nadar University.

Director of VDIS; leads business for the company, his perspective on the current trends and customers’ expectations is deep and instrumental in making designs that make sense; his deep understanding of the signage anatomy helps in making our signage designs functional and value for money; a foody at heart and practice; graduated from Hindu college and went on to do his executive management programme at Cornell.

Co-leads the overall design team and brings the much-needed design school method to the otherwise madness in the team; has a Masters in Fine Arts from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore and brings the required sensitivity towards strategic design.

Leads VDIS’ creative design team; is a curious traveller and one can often find him motorcycling across unknown, hidden terrains of our country, and it is perhaps this traveler’s curiosity that he brings to the design board that helps us come up with divergent concepts and ideas.

Is the reason that our location plans and structural drawings are known to be immaculate and fool-proof across our client network; holds a diploma in civil engineering and leads our Engineering Design team; his attention to detail makes the tendering drawings experience a breeze!
